Hi Michele, I buy rabbit from a man that raises it organically with no hormones or enhanced feeds...I love feeding the rabbit! There is only one issue with rabbit...it has very low levels of Taurine which dogs and cats need...but you can offset that by feeding beef heart or organs which are high in taurine. We also feed a lot of elk, deer and anything else my husband hunts. Deer season is coming and I am excited...my freezer is getting low LOL Hugs In Him, Deanna

I think it would benefit my Aussie. I know for a fact that tame rabbits have smaller bones than chicken and I like it better than chicken for myself. I am in college and just finished studying in Anatomy that almost everything from the store has MSG and other artificial preservatives in it for flavoring enhancers and to improve shelf-life. It causes diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and numerous other problems in humans and was just wondering if any of y'all thought that that would have been part of the problem with your friends chi's. Even if you could put an ad on craigs list or somewhere that you were looking for rabbit meat or chicken meat you may be able to find what you need. Anyone who may be interested I have alot of rabbit breeder friends, If you want to email or IM me off list I can let you know whom to contact to get quality hormone free meats for your family or pets. Thanks, Michele in WV ________________________________ From: Amie McCaig <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Fri, August 20, 2010 11:13:12 PM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] joyce...Raw diet Michele, I think you are on the right track... If I could raise my own meat I would. I also think, that its all that garbage in the meat for " human consumptions " is the reason so many other health issue occur. not just in our beloved pets, but in us too. I'm sorry to respond, I know this question was not posted for me. Amie
