Lorena, before I got my second chi, my first chi was lonely because I worked 8 hours a day. I felt bad that she was alone all day so I got another chi. It took her 2 weeks to warm up to her buy now they are the best of friends.

I do want another dog but my apartment only allows 2 pets and we already have a cat which monster plays with but not as much when I'm gone. Also, we had a dog stay with us for a couple of days and he was really jealous of her so I don't know if he'll get along with another dog although he gets along with my moms dogs when we visit her. I guess he would eventually warm up to a new dog, right? Monster and my fiance definitely need a better relationship and I've been trying to get him to work on it but he doesn't have a lot of patience and he says I give monster too much attention so he doesn't need any from him. Also he's more of a cat person. Do you or anyone have any advice on how to work on their relationship? Monster does seem to like my fiance and is always happy to see him. Oh and when I'm gonna, my fiance says that he does give monster more attention then he usually does. LOL!!! I think Chi's just NEED to be with their people. Is he an only dog? Have you considered adding in another little Chi so he can have a play buddy while your gone??? Distraction is a wonderful tool and maybe another little love bug is just what he needs while you are away! He obviously isn't bonded to your fiance' correct? If another pup isn't in your plans maybe some extra "relationship" work with your Chi and your fiance'??? I leave him with my fiance at our home where he is most comfortable. When I get back, he will not leave my side for a long time and he whines a lot and this last time soon after i got home he pigged out on his food.
