My first Chi Sami when I brought him home and gave him his first bath and dried him he growled and me and bit me - he bit all my grand kids. I took him to private lessons as I wanted to stop it ASAP. I was told to also put him down on his back and pinch his neck, just like his mother would do. Not hard but just so he felt it and say "no" in a very stern way. I worked and worked with him he never bit me again as I was his whole world. However, once in awhile if my grand kids were over and eating a hamburger on the floor while watching TV they would offer him and bite and then he with bite them for more. So we stopped that. Again, I could take anything out of his mouth but he thought he was the alpha of the kids. But just keep at it and you will find the right solution. Getting him to a good trainer is a must or is it a she. My girl has never growled at anything since the day I got her, I do not even think she knows how to growl. she is so submissive and always wants to please me. She has been the easiest dog I have ever had. Again, don't give up he will learn. You just have to be constitutive.

In the meantime, Paco was a total couch potato and didn't care where I set him. We'll start the classes in a couple of weeks and hope they help. She even bit me and drew blood recently when I tried to put her in the submissive position after she started growling.
