Hi Sandy! Congratulations on your new addition and welcome to this group!!! You might try an oatmeal, sensitive skin shampoo...www.jefferspet.com carries some nice ones. Also if you have only had her a week she might be undergoing some stress...I know they can loose hair from stress. Also think food allergies...what are you feeding? Did you recently switch her food? Look for ingredients like wheat, corn, grains etc that she could be allergic too. You may want to look into grain free foods and see if that helps...start cooking for her...or try a raw diet. Most skin and coat conditions are directly related to allergies and usually to food. Adding a salmon oil can be helpful too if her skin is dry. Also yeast infections can cause itching of the skin...any sugars will accelerate yeast issues so check food ingredients for processd sugars of anykind...they hide in fancy names but usually can be found in dry kibbles. If there is a piddle pad down she will go on that if I can't get her out in time. She seems to be losing some of her hair and has been doing some scratching.
