I put Maggie in a crate when I first got home just to see what she would do - this crate is 5 years old and has not been used once. She cried so hard then she put her paw through the wire and of course she was out of it in 1 minute and I put it back in the garage where it has been living for years. I would be afraid that she would get hurt in there. I use to leave Sami once in awhile like when I went to the doctor when he was a baby in my bathroom and he got use to it and as he got bigger then he was fine. But I have not left Abbey as well its a long story and you have probably already heard it a million times. My hope is one day the 2 girls will become great friends and bond together and be okay for an hour or two by themselves. Thanks sounds like you have it down pat. Do your kids think you are nuts? Mine do..... oh well. It is what makes me want to get up each day even if I have had a bad pain night they kiss me on my face to let me know they have to go potty. Maggie has been so good for only 8 weeks old - no accidents at all in the house. She just kisses me and that means its time for her to go out. Abbey has always done the same thing. They are biological sisters so maybe it is something that runs in the family but it is so sweet. God Bless you for taking these beautiful babies and letting them know what love is. Can you imagine not ever knowing what it is really like to be a loved dog. The Amish have lots of terrible breeding factories and do not consider them as living creatures. I have heard they just shoot them when they can no longer breed. I think the bible is very clear on how we are suppose to treat all creatures, I guess they did not read that part. It breaks my heart every time I see these breeding horror places and love when they get closed down! I think their punishment should be to put them in a cage for awhile and see how they like it.... I'll tell you my personal set up of my chis.....Barely, who is the biggest of my chis, is in an x-pen downstairs. He gets out and plays ect, but wont stay out with the others for too long...they pick on him and he is very timid with them and prefers the seclusion of his x-pen....weird. Pepper is in an x-pen in my bedroom. He is a 14 year old retired SD and was the best boy in his prime! Unfortunately, he is crippled now and has lost much of his mental falculties and it just isn't safe for him to be free with the others. They would hurt him, either intentionally or accidentally. Whenever there is a girl in heat, she stays in my daughter's room untill her time is over. Otherwise everyone else pretty much stays in my room while I am gone during the day and run around in the evenings, in turns. There are 11 all together right now, so I don't let them all run around at the same time or they would drive me nuts, lol, so they kinda take turns about running around outside my room, sitting in my lap in my office, ect....
