There's a difference between being treated for heartworms and being given 
heartworm prevention medication.

I'm not sure either unless we misunderstood. My hubby just decided to go ahead 
then give him the heart worm medicine. Have you been giving yours heart worm 
medicine and have they had any effects. He's been tested for heart worms and it 
came back negative, he didn't have it. So wouldn't the medicine prevent him 
from getting it. And I think she said not to give him the puppy heart worm 
medicine I'm not sure. But when we went to our vets office that's the medicine 
they gave us.
