Thanks guys - it is driving me a bit nuts waiting. I think it will beLilly
that
I go for - but I don't know if they will let me have her - can't see why not
tho. I also contacted the local Chi Rescue - they have the sweetest male Chi -
8 yrs - next to no teeth after they sent him to the Vet. He came from a big
fire we had in a special housing unit downtown - lots of people were displaced
for months. His owner had too many dogs and had to let some go. They asked me
if I'd consider taking in 2. I'm not against it - but right now it seems
overwhelming. Lilly probably would like a pal. Titois black with tan - just
adorable - apparently he has lost lots of weight.

There is just something about rescuing a dog that can make a person feel so
good. My chi Jack, who I adopted just two weeks ago now, is slowly coming
around and is not as shy as he was when I first got him. He came from a
hoarding situation. His previous owner just got in over her head with animals.

My other chi, Twiggy, was a former puppy mill breeder dog. She had terrible
teeth. I had her spayed as part of my contract with the rescue group. The vet
also pulled two teeth that were totally rotted in her mouth. After we got
those
teeth pulled and she got to feeling better her personality changed so much.
She’s more outgoing now and way more active. I love it! Her tail NEVER stops
wagging, unless of course she’s sleeping J

Dear Jacqueline, About three weeks ago I rescued a little chi from a shelter.

I only had about three minutes with her. She seemed very shy and sweet. I
had know idea if she was potty trained or anything she was very small about 5
lbs. I knew someone had to save her. So the next day I brought her home.
She
didn't eat much and she was very scared. To my surprise she was 100 % potty
trained. The shelter did have her spayed and all shots and one free vet
exam. Three day later I brought her to her free exam. Dr. thought she was
about 18 months and had never had babies. She was also tested for parasites
and was clean. The vet did find a very bad back tooth and gum disease
around the tooth. I had it taken care of right away. She feels so much
better she is eating better and so sweet. The tooth did cost me $485.00. It
was worth every penny. I will try to attach a picture. If I were you I would
just go for it you know much more about your dog than I did mine. My dog was
just a stray and that’s all they knew. I am so happy with my new dog Lola.
