LOL - I can kind of laugh now - I was really pumped for the rescue dog & that's probably by I consoled myself with this little beauty. After my heartfelt letter to the rescue about how we thought it over & felt their dog was going to fit us - nope. Everyone I know had the same reaction - the dropped jaw and total amazement. The foster mom doesn't have birds & the dog was good with her cats. I confess I didn't really warm up to her when we talked & I tried to be neutral but maybe the feeling was mutual.
We pick her up this coming Saturday [home breeder seemed like real folk - fi a bit Chi nuts! lol] - 2 hr drive of course but we get to visit my mother on the way back. I really hope it goes well. I am preparing for the baby crazies. Looking into washable pee-pads and faux-grass pee station. I'm looking into alternative foods as well as raw. Apparently she does outside just fine.
