Hi, My grinder only does chicken bones...all of them though. If you don't want to buy the grinder you can always chop the chicken breast meat and let them chew on the wing tips when they are small. I skin most of the skin off...I let the littles chew wing bones and neck bones and breast ribs of the chicken...not the legs or thighs as the splinters scare me. The bigger guyes get any piece. I was going to just try it out myself at 1st. I understand your experience tells you I need the grinder - I'll think on it. If I don't grind it I'll have to deal with the raw meat on the floor. One benefit is the chewing - how does that go if it is all ground? Do you grind the biggest bones too or offer them for chewing? No one talks about the skin - do you grind the skin too? I might order the raw - there is someone who sells prepackaged in 1/2lb & up prepared meats [frozen] for dogs & cats. I just did the grind of chicken breast. If you can get the little Maverick meat grinder for $99 from www.pierceequipment.com it will be so very easy!!! Just buy a whole chicken...cut it up to fit through the grinder bones and all...and start feeding! Since you have until Saturday you have some time to get the ginder...they ship so fast...and have some done up and in individual ziplocks in your freezer. The pup will do GREAT! Feed it warm though or your baby will shiver. I set the thawed baggie in a bowl of HOT water...works great as microwaving destroys enzymes...and you want those ! We were rejected because we have birds. My disappointment was deep and heavy. They didn't even come over for the house visit - just an email. That was one rescue. The Chi Recue was friendlier but they didn't have one that filled our requirements. I know I could wait until the Chi Rescue gets one I want. The point is I have time right now to train and settle a new dog. I started looking at ads. I was looking at 1 year olds - after a few phone calls and no follow-up photos sent my way I spotted a pup. - hope these photos show up....
