Amanda, what a story on little Tiny. How lucky that you should be in the
parking lot just at the right time to save him! I am sure Tiny was very
grateful for your love and devotion to him. Sorry that he had to leave you
so soon.

Rylee,

I know exactly what you mean. Growing up, I never thought I would have a
Chihuahua. I always had the wrong mindset that they were yappy ankle biters
Then, I had the pleasure of finding a little Chihuahua named Tiny. I was
walking out to my car one evening after work. It was late and no one was in
the parking lot. I saw a Winnebago pull up and throw something out of its
door. I thought it was a brown paper sack from a fast food restaurant at
first but then it started to move. I realized it was a dog after the
Winnebago had already left. I went over to him and found that he still had
his rabies tags on with the vet’s contact information. I called the vet’s
office and left a message because it was so late no one was in the office.
They called back the next day letting me know that they were located almost
three hours from where I live. I couldn’t believe that Tiny had traveled so
far. Anyway, I asked if I could have the phone number of the owner and they
said that they would give her my contact information and if she wanted to
get in touch with me then she could do so. Later, I got a phone call from
her. She said that she had given Tiny to a friend to take care of as she
has cancer and could not care for him. I asked if she would like me to
return her dog to her and she said she just didn’t think that she could give
him the kind of love and attention that he needed and deserved. I asked if
she had tried to contact her friends that she gave Tiny to to care for. She
said that she had tried but that they had moved and she didn’t know how to
contact them now because their phone had been disconnected. I offered right
then and there to give him a good home. He was an elderly dog, 12 years old
and died in his sleep this past summer. I miss him dearly. But I know he
would have wanted me to continue to have companions in my life and to care
for other chis the way that I cared for him. This is why I love the breed
so much. Jack and Twiggy and Tiny are so devoted to me and every time I
looked at Tiny and now when I look at Jack and Twiggy I know what
unconditional love is.

Yeah Jack! You all did great! So relieved to hear all is well. Bet in a
little bit with some work you will be more social. We had unexpected house
guest for the week. Frida thought it was a party for her. All our guests
kept saying, "I can't believe she is a chihuahua. I don't like chi's. She
is so cute and fun. I've never seen one be so nice." I just laughed
thinking, you don't know many chis!
