I heard of the recent load of Chi's, they were from the auction that I recently posted. I am glad that animal control got them. They were the ones that no other PM would bid on. A lot of times the PM's either shoot or drown the 'leftovers' from the auctions if Animal Control isn't their first. So very happy to that they are on top of things. If I remember correctly, their was 69 Chi's altogether in that auction. Actually their was a total of 3 different auctions through out the month of Nov and several during Oct. Their will be a lot more auctions in the new year too. They have been know to sell the dogs for only $5.00 and up when they really want to get rid of the seniors and or sick ones, or the young that don't produce enough puppies for them.
It was a rude awakening for me years ago to learn how the Amish people view animal life. Their religious beliefs are nothing like what Christians believe in. They view animals and the outside world as the scum of the earth filled with sin and believe that only they have a right to get into heaven. They are the worst PM's in four states. -------Original Message------- From: Dunwoody, Amanda Date: 11/30/2010 12:19:07 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Chihuahuas] Jack Oh I know. I am so thankful that animal control officers called the rescue that I adopted Jack from instead of putting him to sleep. Missouri just recently past the Proposition B in November and you would not even believe how many Chihuahuas have come into the shelter just waiting for homes. Sadly, most of them are over ten years old and no one gives them a second glance. I’m not into the puppy stage (although it would have been nice to see Jack and Twiggy when they were little itty bitty doggies). I prefer to adopt adult age dogs. It’s just a personal preference because I know that even the adult chis need love just as much as the cute little puppies. I definitely need to take pictures of Jack and Twiggy. I would like for you all to see them now that they are living the high life J From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, November 30, 2010 11:11 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Jack How wonderful that Jack found his way to you and out of that sorry situation Gloria -----Original Message----- From: Dunwoody, Amanda <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, Nov 30, 2010 9:17 am Subject: RE: Fw: [Chihuahuas] Jack Jack is 3 years old. It could be his age but I think it was more of the situation he came from. Prior to my adopting him he was at a puppy mill for the first 2 years of his life and then the puppy mill recently had to reduce the number of dogs they have due to the fact that Missouri passed Proposition B so the puppy mill owners decided to call this woman they knew would take the dog because she was a hoarder and could not turn the dog away The lady had 65 dogs in her home and so Jack was left alone in a crate most of the time. At 2, Emiliano is finally getting around to accepting, without barking and growling, company and/or even family. I posted earlier that he did well at Thanksgiving and today, he was calm around the lady who comes to help me clean. So, he's getting better about being around others and it makes me very happy. I made sure that he had a nice quiet place to retreat to, which is where he chose to stay during the majority of the day. I would have liked to see him out socializing with the guests a little bit more but he’s still got a long way to go before his confidence builds to the point where he’s comfortable with 20 people around at one time. All in all he did great. He was very quiet while guests were here. He stayed close to my other Chi, Twiggy, which is what I expected he would do as he is familiar with her and finds comfort in her friendship. I’m very proud of him. J
