Hi Amanda, How lucky for you and the pups! I am very happy for you! But, I would get it in writing that she is releasing the dogs to you, and get any Vet papers, and micro-chip ID# if they have one. I am saying this because a friend of mine got a puppy from one of her friends the same way. 6 months later she wanted the puppy back, when my friend refused, she was taken to court and because the first owner had the original purchase & Vet papers and the dogs micro-chip (my friend didn't realize she had to change the info in it) was registered to her, the judge made her give the puppy back. The courts look at animals as property and the original owner had paper work to prove that it was her property. It was devastating for her.
