That is one way to look at it.

Hi
I believe its the law, that in order to prescribe a new prescription, the vet
must see the patient to be sure the prescription is needed. I could be wrong,
but don't think so. He can lose his license for giving out prescriptions
without seeing the dog. My sisters cat is on thyroid meds. she can not just
call and get more meds without the cat being seen and having blood test every 3
months. I would think its a good vet who does that. double check the animal to
be sure things are looking ok. I understand about the money. You might want to
see if you can find a vet that charges less of an office fee.

Hi everyone! Holly Noel had 5 teeth extracted yesterday. Three of them were
abscessed so bad that they had green gunk coming out of them. She also had to
have an abscess drained on her back. It was one of the animal bites. Then her
ears were cleaned out and the one is swollen shut due to yeast! Needless to say
after a long roughing up to fix her up she is feeling much better.
Now I would like some feedback. This is the Chi that my vet's office called me
to take in. They had looked her over, gave her capstar, looked at the bites,
and told me to keep them clean and dry. I called today for some more antibiotic
that is specific to abscess and the vet said her would have to see Holly Noel
first! Mind you he treats all 15 of our pets. I said , due to the weather, I
didn't want to drive into Troy that it was because of the abscess we needed the
medicine. He said it is his policy to see the dog first. So I decided I had no
choice. Now in order to get a script it cost me $83.00 and then I still have to
fill the script! I am upset by this. I think he could have given me the script.
It isn't a narcotic! It is an antibiotic. He knows how many animals I work
with. He know I was the one that pulled the teeth. He knows I know what I am
talking about. And he basically examined the chi when he had it at his office.
Maybe I am wrong but I
think it is time to look for a new vet! I need one that shows some compassion,
not greed!
