This people are using their power in a very pitiful way. I do not think I have
ever heard of a cat that lived to be 22 - the whole process is crazy! Sounds
like their is a lot of politics going on with these groups.

Ellen:

I know how you feel. My wife and I were turned down for adaption from a rescue
unit in Colorado. We had already adapted two other Chi's from a different unit
and were looking for one more. They would never give us a reason why we were
turned down but we do know during the interview they started snubbing us when
we told them we had to put down our cat at the age of 22+ years old. Our kitty
was in total kidney failure, was not eating, only drinking crushed ice water,
totally blind, and had issues walking. She was in lots a pain. But it just
seemed like that rescue unit did not agree with that decision. They never said
that right out but the person who was doing the interview keep bringing it up.
I finally ask them how many people do you know had a cat for 22+ years, our cat
had a very good life and she was just very old with lots of sever medical
issues. The vet felt best if we put the kitty down.  We have rescued an another
chi after that for a different
group but I will never tell anyone that I had a pet put down.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] update on Nema with Rescue I am done for sure now!

I decided last night to send another email to the midwest cooridinator and aked
why I couldn't be conisdered for adopting her and she was told me that I was
being a bad person for letting Sissy go into heat twice now. (excuse me)

I was like do you have me confused with someone else as she has never gone into
heat. My issues was wiht her weight to be spayed by my Vet.

Well she then told me that my vet was probable not a good one since they have
spayed puppies at 12 weeks and have never lost one. I told her no way my vet is
making sure she is a good weight to withstand the anesthesia and she would
prefer her to be 3 pounds to be on the safe side. I also told her that I
trusted my Vet with my grandkids! I mean she stood by me when we put our
beloved maggy down and cried with me!

I gave her my toll free number to call and talk to me and she refused stated
Nema wasn;t a good choice for me and tha tanother chi would be better suited?
Since when did she become Ceasar the dog guy?

So anyway I thought I would let you know now end of story for me! Thanks for
listening. Ellen
