Desi and Dolly sound like opposites... what fun to have one of each.

All those toys sound wonderful for keeping the little guy busy and to keep him
from gobbling his food.

I think socializing at a young age really does help... never thought about it
with other dogs because there were kids in the house and their friends were
coming and going and the dogs just naturally get socialized with children
around <G> but, now, Benji is the first dog we've gotten since they have all
left home so now we have to think about it. She is a very calm little girl,
still very shy but not at all scared. I think she knows she is loved. She
sure did wonderfully with the gang around here over the holidays <G>

Desi is a challenge at times. He is all bouncy and wants to play and Dolly
just wants to be left alone to lay in the sun or on the recliner chair under
her blankets. Desi walked on top of her while she was laying under the
blankets on my bed and hurt her knee….she had to have knee surgery because of
that. Although Desi is almost 17 months old, he still has tons of puppy
energy…he loves everyone and will kiss people to death. He is also a little
Mommy’s boy a lot of the time.

For Christmas, my two got the Star Spinner and the Treat Wheel, the hide a bee,
hide a bird, the plush gingerbread house with three gingerbread toys, and they
also go the intellibone and the plush dog with removable rings. The star
spinner is way too easy for him. The treat wheel was hard for him to get the
caps off until I put the loops on them and he will go right to the toy and pull
them all off…so now I am going to remove some of the loops so he has more of a
challenge. I work with both of them when I give them the new puzzle toys so
that they know what they have to do. Desi is very food oriented and Dolly is a
little grazer and except for her wanting some of the treats all the time, she
is not driven by food the way that Desi is. They both love to go out in the
car in their booster seat. They just sit and watch out the window and at stop
signs and stop lights they love to bark at the people in the cars next to me
LOL

They have a puppy stroller (which Desi chewed the zipper apart) and they really
like being in the stroller too. They are very friendly to everyone. I got
each of them when they were 8 weeks old, and they were socialized from the day
that I got them.

Desi sounds like quite a little challenge. Hard to keep one step ahead of
that little mind. Sounds really really smart. How fun.....

I got a little rubber piggy and I put Desi’s food in there. He rolls it on the
floor and the food comes out. He loves it. If I didn’t do that and just put
it in a bowl, it would be gone in 5 seconds…he is a gouger!
