I am not at home right now, will send you the name of the medicines when I get home.  To learn about the use of nematoes, Google "nematoes for flea control".

Thanks Gloria! What is the name of the Flea Pill, and is it a combo pill with the heartworm?

I live in an apartment, but I looked up the definition of nematodes and this is what it said

n. any unsegmented worm of the phylum Nematoda, having an elongated, cylindrical body; a roundworm.

Now, I know you wouldn't put roundworms in your garden, since  a dog could get infested with them, so could you explain what they are? Lol!

Where would you buy Diatomaceous Earth ?

This is great info and I am going to hold onto it.

Peggy, I too wondered how Gigi was doing.  Since you hadn't mentioned the problem lately, I hoped that meant that she was doing better.  Glad to hear that she is.  To treat for fleas, I no longer use any of the ones that come in a tube and are put between the dog's shoulders, because Emiliano had a reaction.  So, now he takes flea and heart worm prevention meds in a pill form and he takes them well.  If you are interested in a natural treatment, I once (when I had a flea infestation and a larger dog)  used live nematodes and spread them all over my back yard (they eat the fleas).  Then I bought Diatomaceous Earth (powdered) which I was told to dust around the dog bed and the base boards in the den (room where the dog was allowed).  Then I put some of the powder in a sock, tied a knot at the top of the sock and used the bottom part as a powder puff to dust the dog with.  I treated the bed and dog daily until I no longer saw fleas on the dog.  It worked.
