Thank you so much Kate I just so happened to of found one. We always take our Girl Scouts to several places during the holidays as we make scarfs for the residents. One of my girls her grandfather was at the new place and I knew right away I was going to move him there. Her mother is an RN and did a lot of research. This place has 6 residents and one RN, one LVN and one MA - Cypress Meadows has 200 residents and not one licensed medical care worker. The so called Medical Director and owner is an x dentist that had so many law suits against him had to find another way to make a living. At the time I moved him, I was ill and did not do my homework and at first it was fine because my dad could care for himself he has Alzheimer's - he had to be reminded to shower and shave but could do it himself - once he got moved to the lock down unit it all changed the prices doubled and the care is terrible. The turnover is very high which we know is a bad sign and his care givers speak very little or no English. So it was just not a good place. They had an outbreak of scabies in November and never told any of the families and I have been taking my Dad to the doctor since December because of his rash and since the Dr. did not know she thought it was just dermatitis because he also at that time started using diapers. I was furious as I felt they should of told me and my Dad suffered for 2 months and then he scratched himself a huge sore that was just cultured and found out it has MRSA, the doctor told me that is one of the number one ways it is spread. I almost feel like taking them to small claims court as I do not think I should have to pay for the medical bills and all the suffering he did. It has been so hard because I have no one to help me with him and I have medical issues. Yesterday I got hit and last week he knocked me down (not on purpose but I was trying to get him in the wheelchair they have at Kaiser as he walks so slow). But thank you so much for your kindness and your offer! God bless you!

I only saw one once and I just gave her a warm bath and it just fell into the water. But to be safe I used the little metal comb and went through her hair to make sure no eggs. We do not have the problems in N. Calif like they do in the south - most vets here do not put dogs on heartworm here unless we travel or go camping. Miss Magoo (Maggie) is so light that I would see them right away, I am always on the look. My father got scabies from the place is is living at and I found out that dogs can get them too - so called the Vet and he told me that if they had scabies I would know right away because they would scratch 24/7. But I did bathe them since they were just with my dad. My Dad is moving out of there this weekend, this place charges 6,000 a month and the care is terrible! From this website http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/okgard/msg0621251915317.html "However, I wanted to pass on some very pertinent information that I just discovered after visiting my holistic veterinarian. DE is actually NOT safe to use on pets without extreme caution. When rubbed on pets' coats, it can severely dry out their skin (which can cause health problems that do far beyond dull coats!). Even more important to note is that dry DE can be very harmful to the lungs, both for pets and humans. Because of the structure of DE (tiny fossilized oceanic micro-organs with sharp edges...obviously a lay-person's description!), if DE is accidentally inhaled while applying it can be harmful to lung tissue, etc. The vet recommended combining DE with water in a sprayer, spraying the yard, and then watering it in before allowing pets to spend time out there." --- In [email protected], twopenns@... wrote: > > Peggy, its the same thing I told you about.
