Welcome Patti and Gus-Gus (really cute). My name is Linda and my Chi is Taylor.
Sorry I don't have any advice about the food though. He is about 4 months old and was pee pad trained when I got him. No accidents so far! I live in eastern upstate New York, so it will be quite a while before he will be able to get outside. His breeder fed him Chicken Soup for the Puppy Dog Soul puppy food and gave me several samples, but he is not eating it too well. I have other dogs (a Greyhound, a Pug and 2 Chinese Crested) and he keeps sneaking into their food and having at it. I've moved him into a different room to encourage him to eat his own food, but he just sits and looks at it. Any one have any ideas? I wasn't sure if I should try to wait him out or relent and let him eat what he wants. Any suggestions for a different puppy food that he might like better? I'm worried he will get diarrhea from changing foods. When I tried mixing it as the breeder suggested, he just picks out the adult dog food nuggets and ignores his puppy food. Little stinker! Other than that, the transition has been pretty smooth. He is crate trained already and sleeps beside my bed in his crate without a peep all night. I'm totally in love with him and looking forward to many years with him. Thanks for letting me join the list, and I look forward to getting to know you all and any advice you have for a first time Chihuahua owner.
