No your not! LOL! , because you did mention once that raw feeding does cause less shedding.
I will say that I was very very concerned about Gigi's profuse shedding for months. But then, I had to remember that she was not in good condition when I got her, then she went into heat, which causes a shed after they finish their cycle, and then she got spayed, and again that causes a profuse shed afterwards as well. It has only been the past two weeks that her fur is finally coming in thicker and longer then when I first got her. She still has the dry skin, but that is getting less and less. Now I can even see a shine, where as before she had a very dull dry looking coat. So the change of diet and giving her Liperderm has helped a lot. Plus a shampoo that is helping to get rid of the dry skin. It has taken almost 7 months to see the change. She doesn't shed as much either. The chi's must be different then other dogs, because when I got Princess her fur was falling out by the handfuls. She had 3 types of worms, was underweight and malnourished, yet there was a significant change in her fur and overall health within 3 months of being on a good diet and the Liperderm and of course the meds to get rid of the worms. Princess sheds 2x a year and a lot. She should shed only in the summer, but the dry heat is a definite factor in dogs shedding. Which is why I need another good vacuum cleaner, lol!! By the way, I use a boar's brush on Gigi to and you won't see much fur in it Use a metal flea comb and you will see some dead hair come up. The flea combs are perfect for their fine thin fur and really takes out a lot of dead fur. They work great for de-matting grooming dogs too, and don't pull as much. -------Original Message------- From: Deanna Corey Date: 2/26/2011 11:24:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Chihuahuas] Shedding Ok...I am a little worried now. Both Mouse and Myrtle are short haired and neither shed much at all. They do get brushed with a boar bristle brush in the mornings but hardly any hair comes out...I am a little worried!
