I hope so too…I guess if we think of it as if it happened to us. If we had
eaten food that made us constipated and then ate more and more, pretty soon we
would be in so much pain with the blockage that we probably wouldn’t want
anyone around us. Dolly was the rock eater; Desi gets the squeakers out of
toys and chews them and swallows them…as you remember I was worried about him a
couple of weeks ago because he was vomiting and not pooping. He got over it on
his own…and I hope that Monster gets over this too. The vet had put Dolly on
an IV and then when she was more hydrated, they gave her a little enema and
even then had to dislodge what was stuck at the end of the line. I was
surprised to find out what she had eaten…Desi did try it a couple of times, but
I knew to bring him in immediately and then I even started the water spray
therapy to stop him from eating the rocks too…my rocks must be very tasty!

I really hope that's what it is Joan... This morning I had taken him out and
when I went to pick him up he hollered before I even touched him. And he was
hollering a lot when the vets were messing with him...

Ohhhhh..poor Monster! In one of your first emails about him screeching in
pain, it reminded me so much of when Dolly had the blockage (of rocks) in her
intestines. Please keep us posted.

The tests didn't show anything but they did another x-ray and it showed that
his intestines are really thick so he may have a blockage or something else
with his intestines. They're keeping him over night and giving him fluids, pain
meds, and other meds since he's not eating now and he's in more pain. They'll
probably run a dye through him and see if its a blockage then we'll go from
there... I feel so bad for him and I wish I could be with him...

Well guys, I'm back at the vet with Monster. He seems to be worse today.
They're running a bunch of tests...

Lorena:

Hope Monster feels better and doesn't need surgery. I have bulging discs and it
is very painful.

Hugs,
Linda and Taylor

I will try, Gloria, I will try hard... He's already doing better. He's walking
around the house some but I'm trying to keep him still. He wants to follow me
everywhere. I'm not sure if he should be walking around or not. The vet said
not to let him play or run around. I've been carrying him outside to go potty
and I think he's getting a little tired of being carried around. He backs up
when I reach for him now. Its funny, for a dog that wants me to hold him all
the time, now its too much. Lol

Lets hope the meds work and that he'll soon be pain free. While on your trip,
I know it won't be easy, but try not to worry.
