Gloria, I too have to admit, you do live in a beautiful state. Those
pictures show it's beauty even with the fires, so I can't image how
gorgeous it must be when things are normal and all the flowers are in bloom.
The homes there all seem to have so much beautiful
property around them, unlike LI, where everyone is on top of one and other.
Most people can never have the window blinds opened on both sides of their
house, or else there neighbor can see everything. And if you are on a main
street, you never see the front of the house window blinds opened either!
All my life, I have wanted to move to a more country type of home, it just
never seemed to work out for me.

I have so often heard people discribe Texas in the Spring, with all the
wildflowers in bloom, as being in heaven. Those fires make it look as if
being in parts of Texas is like being in hell. I hadn't seen some of those
photos, I weep for my state and my fellow Texans who are having to go
through all of this.

Found this link with pictures. I feel so bad for the livestock and the wild
animals too. So much damage....it is awful!

Hi Peggy, I had answered your earlier post, don't know why it hasn't shown
up. I am fine. The fire on the outskirts of Austin, burned 11 houses and
damaged many others. The houses were on scenic lots, on hills, with lots of
trees. The fires in other parts of Texas continue, its just been so dry and
the areas that are wooded with trees and shrubs are more at risk when fires
develop. I have been doing rain dances and ask you to join me - seriously,
we need prayers for rain in Texas.

Hi Gloria! Are you all right? I just heard that the fires are now spreading
towards Austin and immediately thought of you. How so very awful and scary!
I hope you post and let us know how you are doing, and give updates as to
how things are there.

Peggy
