Thanks to everyone for their ideas. Turns out our baby girl had  
stomach/intestine cancer. We had to put her down after 13 years. Its amazing  
how a 
4.4 lb dog could be so loved by so many. Mia was very special indeed. It  
feels like I just lost a daughter. Thanks everyone!
