You are SUCH a funny girl, Beth! When you wrote 3 am was when your bf 'really started howling', that's when I did too, as in laughing howling, lol. Still laughing, in fact. They just have NO idea how loud they can get, do they? Imagine, sleeping with dogs can be much more restful than with a human, but true, so true. And I am so much nicer when I have had a great night's sleep, instead of dragging around in a haze all day long. You ARE a good mamma; you are the type of girl that cannot stand to see anyone or any animal suffering and do what you can to save as many as possible. And that has to be commended! I am similar, but there for a while I was saving so many dogs and cats, I was breaking our budget. The shelters are charging a bundle to bring the rescued ones and as you probably realize, all of my rescues have/had to go to the shelter, my hubby won't/wouldn't let me keep them, but thankfully here, our shelters are all no-kill. They get you both ways. That was a funny statement, you thinking your ex missed Smidge and Chassis more than you, but that is just how much impact Chihuahuas make on their owners, no wonder you wanted to help him get one for himself. I have never known a breed that makes people feel more devoted than Chis. My husband was laughing the other night, silly like, about who I would replace him with if something ever happened to him and I told him I would never marry again, I would just get a pack of Chihuahuas and he laughed again and said, NO DOUBT! Aww, that's sweet how much your big muscle guy bf loves Dani and Ori so much, (I have read many times how that same type falls for the little Chis and then makes no apologies, they too are that transfixed by them and become the biggest defenders of the small dog mentality). I know you're right, and Peggy said so too, just bring one home, he would love it, and you have no idea how many times I came close, so close to doing just that, and I know he would love it too, once it was here, he loves our cats a lot and laughs all the time at their antics. But I am a little worried he might leave me home with the puppy, and make good on his traveling plans with a woman without a Chi!!!! LOL LOL Yeah, I'm laughing now, but maybe I wouldn't be in the future (he he!) I didn't know you could put a doggie door in the slider, good job, and so cute the different responses of everyone to having it in. That Ori, he's definitely a keeper, isn't he? And with Ori's help, know little Dani will catch on soon. Have a great night. Lynn In a message dated 4/26/2011 11:51:46 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
LOL, We are too much alike! When I was married for 20 years, my ex husband didn't snore or hog the bed, It was a shock when I first started dating my bf, I tried to sleep with him. I would get up around 3 when he really started howling. I felt tired all the time. When I bought my house and he moved in with me, I was a bit resentful in the beginning, cause I had to get up and leave the master bedroom. But now I am over it. I had bought the queen bed set when I bought the house, but then he moved in and bought the king bed. I had the little double bed in the spare room, and that was okay, but with Ori in the bed I couldnt even roll over! So last couple nights have been great!! I don't know how those folks did with the 20 chi's! That's just crazy. How can you give each one the attention they crave when you have that many..? I am very happy with my 4. My bf says I am a good mama!! LOL He should know he is the biggest of the dogs, I guess I should say I have 5. Lynn you just need to show up with one, then your hubby will fall in love too. I am telling you from experience!! My ex husband didn't grow up with animals. He loved Smidgen and Chassis so much, I think he was more upset about them leaving then me. He kept my jack Russell, I knew when I left she would be better off with him at the house she knew. His mom got Chihuahua's because of seeing sweet Smidge and Chassis almost every weekend. & my bf now, he wasn't a small dog guy at all..He is this muscle man tough guy, but he loves his Danigirl, and Ori really has got close to him too. So I think you should just bring one home... Ori is such a sweet and smart dog. We put a doggie door in the slider over the weekend, & Ori went right through it. He has had some professional training. Dani see him go through it, but won't. I worked with her with some treats, and even Ori was there showing her. He would poke his head through it, and she just sat there.. I am hoping the bell goes off in her head soon..LOL If I hold the flap she will come through it.. Beth
