I'm taking her back to the vet today. I don't like the way her coughing sounds. And it's been nearly a week of meds. It should be sounding better than this.
I am also beginning to think that her howling is not so much separation anxiety as a dislike of being enclosed. The hallway has plenty of room, but it's still an enclosed space. The bathroom is definitely enclosed. For the past two days I've had her out in the living room. She's been fine. In fact, whether due to illness or her natural, comfortable behavior, she has slept most of the past two days. I've been able to go out and take of things around the property that need to be taken care of. She's not waiting at the gate when I get back. She's still asleep on her bed. I'm still not sure that I'd trust her on her own yet. If nothing else, this has got to be good for getting her healthy. Plenty of calm, rest in a warm stress free environment. And I've been able to get some work done again which has helped manage my stress levels. For my own peace of mind, I think nights in the bathroom are out. I'll see what shoving her bed in a corner of my room does. Whether or not she gets to stay there will depend on whether or not she can get through the night without an accident in the morning. If nothing else, I am happy to see her so relaxed. I am pleased that I can actually get some work done. The energy is definitely the healthiest it's been since she came home a week ago. ------------------------------------ We are now on Facebook!
