By punishing him Mieke, do you mean telling him a sharp "no"when he shows  
aggressive behavior or would you isolate him in another room by himself for  
a short time or something else entirely?

When  he starts biting or even growling at you you must punish him. Seems 
like  he is a dominant little doggie. And I think he sees you and the rest of 
your  family as lower dogs. You need to be his leader and not the other way 
around.
