You are preaching to the choir. I finally bought my pug and later my chug because they were not available thru the local adoption or rescue sources.

Trust me - I've tried it - I've had success on many occassions with other types of animals - but never with dogs. But I knew if I wanted a dog I needed to adopt a puppy - finding a 'small' 8 week old puppy in rescue was difficult-I looked for months (it was for me here in PA anyway). My pug mix is from a breeder with an 'oops' litter - the other (my schnoodle) his pregnant mother was rescued from a puppy mill by a breeder who closed the mill down eventually).
