Hello, I don't live in an area where heartworms are a real concern, so I don't have any advice to offer...but, it sounds like a guardian angel led this little guy to you...he's a very lucky little boy. There's a lot of evil people out there, and a lot of people who think of animals as being disposable. It warms my heart to hear there are other people like myself out there who will open their homes and hearts to poor little creatures like this. Good luck to you both. I hope his treatment goes well.
