Even tho is won't be holistic, follow vets orders.
I adopted a heart worm positive long haired dachshund a year ago in August. Do 
not allow him to be active. From what I understood, activity could allow the 
heartworms to dislodge and cause death. So keep him quiet, as much as you can. 
Angus (stubby little doxy boy) recovered and tested negative. He WILL come out 
of this.

Bless you for taking him in. You have brightemed my day and confirmed there is 
good out there in the world. He is one lucky little guy. Thank you for saving 
him!!!!!!!!!!
