When Bittie looks like he is putting on a weight, I feed him green beans. 1/2 kibble and half kibble. Beans are rinsed before adding to kibble. GB are filling and he LOVES them.

That helps. I also used to slice up carrots for my dogs and throw them. The dogs would chase the carrots down the hallway and get exercise and a treat at the same time.
