Alan - first and foremost - God Bless you for rescuing this tiny creature from
the streets.  I continue to ask myself how can people be so cruel.

You are this little guy's angel....and it's such wonderful news that he's
getting along with the others!!!

As for the #2's - it might be just a total adjustment that is still taking
place...and who knows how long he was out there...You obviously had him vet
checked and he got a good bill of health...maybe just take a small sample of
his stool into the vet for them to check for parasites (?).

There are times that my schnoodle goes 3-4 times a day - and he's not over fed
- and he's on good food.  I guess we should all be glad it's all the plumbing
is working!!

Welcome - and Congrats!!

Subject: [Chihuahuas] My first post

I just joined the group!

Three months ago in my neighborhood I found a little guy foraging in the middle
of the street about to drag some roadkill to the curb. I could see immediately
that he looked underweight. I quickly made a u-turn, headed back his way,
parked my car, and eventually calmed him down enough while drawing closer,
finally picking him up, putting him in the car and quickly drove home.

There he was given some food, which he scarfed down. He had no collar or tags,
no microchip when scanned. He was possibly dumped in our rural looking locale,
here in the northern section of Los Angeles. We could never locate an owner so
we decided to adopt him, named him Poco, got him neutered (our vet estimates
he's 12-18 months old) and he's part of our family now, joining our two German
Shepherds and three cats. He gets along famously with all of them!

I have never had a dog quite that small before but what amazes me and what my
initial question is: Do all chihuahuas relieve themselves as frequently as this
dog does? Just today he's done a #2 five times! And today is not an exception.
Poco's being fed Taste of the Wild kibble twice a day but not that much. His
stools are normal in consistency and color.

He seems to always want food and when he's outside he's often either nipping at
the dirt or finding something to eat out there.

Thanks,
Alan
