Same with my bino. He is the most submissive insecure little guy..scared of
everything. He will act like you are killing him before you even touch the
nail lol.. If you admonish one of the other dogs, he will do the camoflage
crawl through the house into the bedroom..just in case he is in trouble. He is
the most neurotic but truthfully has the most personality and humor of everyone
else.

We have a 14 year old Chi Mix that is not a rescue. We were able to see how
she was treated from birth and she has never been abused in any way but she is
the most insecure dog I have ever owned. If we are traveling - she refuses to
eat or drink out of a travel bowl. Introducing anything new to her sends her
into a panic. We have never been able to trim her nails as she cries and moans
the whole time but she is good for the vet doing the trim. Also she does
rituals with her food - takes it to another area (dry food) and walks around it
several times before eating. She also barks at her water bowl 3 times before
she will drink. I think sometimes it may just be in their genes to be insecure.

We long ago just declared her neurotic and love her anyway.

I hope her little spirit is healed also. That makes me cry.

Joy got her toenails trimmed today and was a good as gold. As a matter of
fact, all the dogs were great. Little Gabby cried thru out the process. I
double check and I did not cut too short she was just scared. I held her for a
long time and we both cried. She is terrified of everything. Someone broke
her spirit because she won’t fight, she just cries and shakes. I think only
God can heal a broken spirit, so I am praying He will touch her and heal her.
