Yes. I know. I am hoping that the pain and swelling go away. I already have used the Voltaren Gel twice and I can’t take anti-inflammatory meds because that is what the gel is. My blood sugar was elevated and not sure if it was pain or the Voltaren Gel. If it is still high tonight after I eat, I will take one of the Glyburide with my breakfast.
The back of my knee actually hurt a little before the walk. I just got done with the Levaquin but I don’t know if I have tendons in the back of my knee. The pain in the calf may be??? But I am not sure. I think that my best bet would be the spine surgeon because he can assess everything. He is only the office that I see him on Tuesdays and Fridays, so I would have another day to hopefully get this to feel better. If not, they will have to give me a prescription for a scooter chair. Gotta go, dinner just buzzed off and Desi is crying for a treat. I just gave Dolly her meds and she ate the rest of her breakfast. I don’t want to feed her too much right now because I don’t need her vomiting tonight…that would just do me in! Thanks for your prayers. I am praying too. I know I need to take care of myself, but I have to take care of Dolly right now, too. I can’t lay in the bed because I may roll over her. I can’t lay in the bed because it wakes me up with horrible shin and top of my foot cramps. It could be the soft doggy bed I put in it and also the very soft, but warm, blankets. Once in a while I move the stroller closer to the recliner chair and I let Desi give Dolly a kiss. I told him that he cannot go in there, and he is being very good about it. I had to go run an errand or two today, and Dolly & Desi were in their respective areas. I held Dolly for about 5 minutes after I got home and then she started walking around the kitchen and the living room…she stopped by where I had moved the stroller earlier. So I lifted her and then helped her to get comfy, and she is sound asleep again. I am so glad that she is sleeping because that takes away half of the battle with keeping Desi away from her. I held her in the back yard for a while this morning, but the wind started blowing hard so I brought her in – I don’t need her getting sick. I have some research and email to send pertinenet information and links to a person that had called the LBDA, and so I am trying to do that, but also be mindful to check where Desi is and to make sure that Dolly is still sleeping. I should eat something too. Too much to do in too little time. To make things worse, I think that all the walking to show the concrete and pavement defects has my knee so bad that I can barely bend it. My calf on the right leg hurts really bad too…but more like a swollen hurt. Four years ago I tore three muscles in my calf from my back being so bad, so I am going to have to call one of my doctors on Monday. Not sure if it should be my primary care doctor, my spine surgeon (who has done a steroid shot in my knee before) or the knee surgeon (who wanted me to have MRI before coming back, but I have to get a blood test and then wait for the MRI place to make an appt first.) I really hope some of the pain and swelling go away before Monday. I don’t think it looks bad, but want to warn you all in case you may not want to see it. Dolly is snug as a bug in a rug; Her new soft cushy bed is in the stroller, and then her new blanket is around her and one of her old ones is supporting her head up a little: <image009.jpg> The orange is her little hoodie that she has on, and that ends at the bottom of her rib cage; the vet did a very good job of closing the incision; the little faint scar below the incision is where she was spayed three years ago: <image010.jpg> <image011.jpg> <image012.jpg> She is being such a good little patient. I guess that isn’t too hard when you can lay around all day and have someone feed you piece by piece and be there to talk to you and give you kisses. This is it for the tummy photos. They had to shave part of her belly, but that hair will grow back soon. I haven’t really been able to look at her belly. I did turn her on her back to do the tummy photos, but I was working as fast as I could to get them snapped before she rolled over. This is the first time that I have had a good view for more than 5 seconds.
