Hi Joan, He does have a collar, but no tags, When I put the add in craigslist,
I didn't give all the details, as I do want the real owner to call and I. D.
him. I just put the pic and not what sex he was. He looks well cared for, nice
coat and shinny. I would guess he is a chi mini pin cross, and a year or so
old. He has a collar, no tags. I know I can get him scanned at the humane Soc.
That is where my class is with Caramella in the morning. I am hoping tonight
when I drive home to put the flyer's out someone will see them!! Praying..

Beth

He is beautiful little guy.  He looks a lot like my Desi Lou – as far as his
features…the longer nose, and Desi does put his ears back like that when he is
very happy.  The other interesting thing (to me) is that he doesn’t hold his
head out straight, but more of a downward  postion.  I sure hope that you can
find his home.  These little guys can run and then you have to figure where you
found him he could have come from a large radius around that .
It is really hard to make this comment, but I hope that his owners will see
your ads and get him back.  However, if you don’t put  collar with tags on your
dog, then maybe you shouldn’t even have one.  I don’t know about where you are
(If I remember correctly you live in Highland?) but I know that one time I
asked my vet about the microchip.  I guess I hadn’t thought about it before,
but the tech brought Dolly back to me and asked me if I knew where her
microchip was inserted.  I didn’t know because that was inserted before I ever
had her.  So, I asked the vet if they scan the dogs when they come in as a new
patient…he said ‘NO’; they cannot scan / or they choose not to, unless the
person bringing them in asks for them to do it.  I know that if the dog you
just found had a microchip, it should still have a collar and maybe the tag
from the microchip with the number to call.    But, I shudder to think that if,
for instance, the
exterminator came and did not close the gate all the way, and one of mine got
out and started running.  Someone could find them on the next street and keep
them.  They could go to my vet – and they would pretty much know that they are
Dolly & Desi…Desi is so gaga over the vet that he is unmistakable, and one of
the ladies at the vet said that there are a lot of Chihuahuas that they see,
but Dolly has just a totally different look than any of the others…I hope that
is a good thing.  But if someone found them and took them to another vet in the
area to get medical care and keep them, then the vet doesn’t scan them because
they haven’t been asked to do that.  We get our dogs microchipped so that if
they get out that they can be returned…but without the vets scanning new dogs,
I don’t really know how effective that it for people that have no intention of
finding the rightful owners.
Beth, I am going to start calling you the St. Francis helper!

Here we go again. Never fails !
found this little guy in the middle of the street on my way home at lunch to
check on my own critters!
walked the street where he was and asked some people that were out and about.
Took him home so he wouldn't get hit. putting up flyer's tonight on my way
home. He was in the street about 3 to 4 blocks from my house, but different
street. I put an add in lost in found on craigslist, will have him scanned for
a chip in the morning when I go for my puppy class with Caramella..  He is a
chi or a chi mix unaltered friendly guy. About 5 lbs, with tall legs.
I sure cant keep this little guy, my 4 are the max, so please keep your fingers
crossed I find his home.
Just by the area I found him in, people let there dogs run.. :-(
