Hi Lynda,
My little chi loves to sleep under the covers. I used to worry about his
breathing, but for 9 months now, he's loving his sleeping arrangements. He
waits 'til I get all settled in, blankets arranged; then he waits for me to
raise the covers for him. What's so weird/funny is that sometimes, he wants to
go under all three of them (I get cold and love my blankies); or he'll just sit
there until I put those down and raise only the top two blankets. There's no
rhyme nor reason for his choices. But he sleeps all night under those blankets.
He likes to lay up against me so that he's touching, but throughout the night,
while I'm tossing and turning, he'll back away and sleep at the foot of the
bed. And on a cold night, his warm body feels great. I don't know how they do
it. I panic if the blanket covers just half of my face. It's like OMG, I'm
gonna die - I can't breathe!!!

Happy Friday everyone....whew...long week (and it was a short one for me)....
I gotta ask - and I've asked this of my vets as well - they just say 'I don't
know they just do'.
My Timmy (schnoodle) and Charlotte (chi) - like to burrow down under the covers
to sleep (all night)....I worry so much about them being able to breathe - but
they insist and keep burrowing down under the blanket and quilt I have on my
bed-Timmy goes down to my hip and curls up against my stomach if I'm on my
side. I keep Charlotte up near my hip so I can check her throughotu the night
to be sure she's still breathing (I don't sleep through the night ever)-but she
would go to my knees if I let her.  And wow - talk about generating the heat -
whew...
Do you ever wonder how in the world are they able to breathe?
