I will send you a few links, but here is the basic list of pro's for raw feeding
- no doggy odor....
- naturally cleans teeth - no need for toothbrushes, de-scaling jobs, or gum disease
- the time it takes for a dog to chew a raw meaty bones give their stomach
adequate time to get the acids moving
- much less stools produced - and they are firm, and turn chalky after a couple of days
- decreased or non-existant vet bills (your dogs are healthier!)
- less cost for dog food - commercial dog foods are ludicriously expensive
- mirrors what a dog would be getting in the wild - and certainly even the modern day dog has a digestive tract exactly the same as a wolf
- puppies develop at a more appropriate rate - and quick growth spurts are avoided. A GOOD breeder will want to stop fast growth in any pup.
- the ripping and chewing involved in eating raw meaty bones develops the jaw, neck, and shoulder muscles of the dog. Commercial dog foods will never assist in this important muscle development.

Hi Rebecca - what are the advantages, in your opinion, of raw feeding vs. kibble? We have many clients that feed raw - but I've never had the leasure of time to chat with them about their choice. Just curious.
Thanks, Lynda

oh I just can't stay out of trouble today.... so here is my opinion.
Take chicken out of bag, drop it on the floor, watch your babies eat......the end!
The only caution I would give on cooked meals for your dogs, make sure they are getting the needed amount of calcium.
My Chi is getting ground today, ground cow, ground chicken bones, with organs added. You would think all of his christmases and birthdays come at once when I set his bowl down. Oh and he will take down any Dane who comes too close lol and they don't press the issue after that. Funny to watch that!

I make what I call doggie stew for my kids. Now I usually use hamburger, but I have a large amount of frozen chicken drumsticks. I was planning to thaw and then boil the chicken until the meat falls off the bones. I can use the broth to flavor my “kids” kibble and then add the meat to my mixed veggies for a kind of chicken stew. I might even try to see if the cat kids would like some. Got any advice? Should I add rice or noodles or not?
