My vet was wonderful! She discovered Jewell had colitis. They gave me meds and gave her something under the skin for dehydration. Then they gave me a HUGE discount on everything. It only cost $69.30! That is over 50% off. She ate dinner tonight (special canned food EN from the vet).

Hi Judy, Keep praying…it could be something easy like she swallowed something that is having a difficult time passing. If it is something that scraped her intestines, she could have the black bloody drizzle. So many things happen that we have never seen or heard of before. I just talked to my friend in Florida who has 11 dogs of her own and usually three rescues, and she told me that her one dog cleans all the others’ eyeballs…so that I shouldn’t feel guilty about Dolly’s eyes and not recognizing a problem when Desi was licking her eyeballs. There are things that have happened to mine that just don’t give me a clue. Dolly had colitis as a puppy and she would leave blood drop trails from her area across the living room (all tile and easy to clean); but I didn’t know what was wrong with her. Perhaps Jewell is a bit stressed as the other dogs pick on her. Sometimes stress can cause weird things too. Just give her lots of love and maybe a bit of pure pumpkin to easy her tummy…and I will be waiting to hear that Jewell is doing just wonderfully. Jewell was my husband’s dog and so has a very special meaning and attachment to me. She is at least 13 yrs old. For 3 days she has had a low grade black diaherrea. Not squirting, just a few dribbles. I looked up what that could mean and it says internal bleeding. She ate well this morning and both meals the other 2 days. She just lays on the couch all day, except when I take her out. She does not appear to be in pain. Now here is the rest of my problem. I’ve had one emergency after another which has drained my resources down to nothing. Credit cards are maxed out, checking account is overdrawn. I am NOT asking for money. I just want to know if you think I should put her to sleep when my check comes in if she has not improved.
