No, I am not criticizing anyone. Any saving of an animal is a good and worthy thing. I do have a problem with the Shelter giving Rescue Groups preferential treatment. That smacks of politics and big government. Us normal people should have the right to pay $45.00 or whatever the fee to get any animal fair and square..not choose from the leftovers or have to pay the Rescue group fees.

The rescue group that I am associated with does a home visit, vet reference and personal references to assure the dog will be will taken care of. The fee that is asked for the dog goes into a generat fund for medical care of all rescues which includes spay/neuter, HW test. and surgeries. No one is paid for anything work they do for the rescue. All parties are volunteers. The foster homes are not reimbused for the food, toys, beds and etc. I am not saying ALL Rescues are good. There is a few bad apples in every barrel.
