I have only gone away with Dolly once. She was only 9 weeks old. I brought her bedding, puppy pads, a few toys and a couple small blankets. She did sleep in her little bed which was on the big bed. At that time of her life, we did sleep with her leash on. She would not potty in her bed, and would wake me up if she had to go. She was confused because the room was so small.hardly enough room to put her food and water down. There was a full-length mirror between the bathroom and the closet. I don't know if it fascinated her or confused her, but she would walk back and forth trying to find the puppy in the bathroom.no, not there.then try to find the puppy in the closet. We were not in the motel for long periods of time. I actually took her with me because I had just got her and she had a respiratory infection. I had a State of CA doctor appt and I had some friends there so they would watch her while I couldn't be there.
Another option that you may have is doggy daycare. I know that here the Petsmarts have doggy day care and there are other stand-alone doggy daycares. If you are taking her with you, I suggest either a friend or doggy daycare. I plan on taking Lucy with me to Houston but will have to leave her in a motel room for a few hours at a time alone. Wonder if that is going to be a disaster. She will have her own bedding and her own toys with her, but still am very worried about this. Please, if you have any information or advise, I'm listening! Thanks, Mary
