Hi Mary, I took my 2 with us last fall when we went to watch our son run in the Savannah Marathon. They actually loved it! I purchased a pop up crate and they slept in that with all their blankets. They did want me to take them out a lot more frequently then normal at night, I think they just wanted to explore. I didn't have to leave them in the hotel alone, I think I would be afraid they would bark and cause a problem. Sorry I can't be of more help, I'll be facing the same dilemma in July! Cindy
