Rebecca, it sounds like you have no choice if he is in constant pain. I can understand you being nervous and my heart goes out to. Your doing the right thing. We can't ruin a dogs quality of life by watching it in pain all the time, either. Prayers that all goes well.

He has a very bad luxating petella. I've been shopping for vets to do this surgery. Found one yesterday that is apparently very good and charges $600 to do it. Some wanted $2500 yikes. The surgery will be scheduled tomorrow. Hopefully he will heal quickly. I just feel so sorry for the little guy! = =
