Females do mark! When Desi was no longer a puppy and I didn't see him doing so
many bad things, and Dolly and he got along very well, I started alternating
who got their treat first, etc. I didn't correlate it, but after about 4 vet
visits and $600 for urine tests, medications, etc., I was talking to my vet and
said I didn't understand why Dolly is peeing every 1/2 house a drop or two, she
was peeing on the carpet etc. He said it could be stress. I told him that I
didn't know why she would be stressed because I treat them both equally. That
was it!!!! He said that I have taken her 'dog alpha' position away from her, so
now she is marking to try to get it back. It did take quite a long time for
her to actually stop marking, but happy to say that she is back to the 'alpha
dog' and everything is, and needs to remain, Dolly First.
