A year ago I had tried to switch both of my girls to the Wellness Chicken
kibble. Princess is such a finicky eater and she loved that food, but she
was loosing weight on it even though I fed her the same amount as I had
tried with other brands. That probably meant that I just had to increase the
amount for this brand. Gigi on the other hand was gaining weight on it. But
the biggest issue that I had was that both of them were shedding profusely
and the new fur wasn't coming in as fast as it should have. Interesting
enough, my sister also had switched her Lhasa Apso, and her dog is regularly
groomed with a short clip, yet she too was shedding all over the house.

I just figured that something was seriously missing in that diet. We both of
course stopped using it.

Last week, I bought a bag of Vets Choice Health Extension, Holistic. No
grain, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, BHT/BHA, sugar, ethoxyquin, colors, dyes,
artificial flavors, all free. No added hormones, no rendered animal fats.
None of the usual garbage in it. Not even Rosemary. Made in USA. Mostly
meat: organic chicken, chicken meal, deboned turkey, turkey, meal, potatoes,
chickpeas, whole sweet potatoes, are the main first ingredients.

Protein 27% Fat 18%. 4lbs $15.00, not a cheap food either.

Sounds like a fantastic food, everything I was looking for in a good diet,
but guess what?..........SHE WON'T TOUCH IT!!! UGH!!! She smells the
kibble and drops it to the floor, won't even try to taste it!! I have to
admit that the smell is far from appealing.

So it's back to store, and hopefully I will get a refund and or find
something else that Her Royal Highness Stuck Up Nose will like! I am soooo
tired of trying to find something that she likes, like she did with the
Wellness, and just as tired of hearing all the recalls and don't know who or
what to trust anymore.

I am so happy that Gigi will eat anything, and her new food seems to be
working. It's now a month and her weight is stabilized, her fur is looking
better and she is more energetic, and she hasn't shown any signs of the
weird behavior seizures that she was having. Fingers crossed it stays this
way, and I will be one happy chi mama! Now if only I could be a happy Eskie
mama!

Yes Rebecca and Sheila......it's good that you can handle the raw thing,
LOL!
