I have one of those swiffer handles.  It actually folds down into a small 
piece.  As the vet was removing it, I could see that when he was trying to get 
it out, he turned it a bit and then the long piece came out...and then I saw 
that it was the kind that you just turn the bar to tighten it to be used long 
for on top of furniture, or small for lower areas.  However, I think that 
perhaps someone did at least help get it down the dog's throat.
