Thank you so much for the advice 8-) Actually, she was doing it before she ate the grass but that will help me knowing for hair balls to give them bread. My dogs never are outside 8-( I wish I could let them out but where we are having to live now there is no fencing and I have 2 that would run and my legs won't let me catch them anymore. I do have a utility room that allows enough room for their potty pads and they use them but it does cost a lot in buying potty pads. She has finally settled down now and was perched on a pillow on the couch when I went back into the living room so whatever it was she seems to be doing o.k now. Thank You once again for your help, I was very worried about her and after losing one I do not want to go through that pain again for a long time. Debbie

I would not give her any over the counter meds unless you knew they were OK for dogs and had an appropriate dosage from a vet. If it seems that she might have a hair or piece of lint or grass in her throat, you might try giving her a little bread. My pups eat grass all the time - they even search for specific kinds. If a blade gets caught in their throat and causes a tickle, I give them a bite of bread. Mine love bread and gobble it right down. It might be worth a try. Hi Everyone, has been sometime since I last posted and have been in grievance since I lost my oldest Chi to diabetes on April 15th at 11:50 pm, he would have been 13 years old on May 24. Although people have told me I should remember he is not suffering and going through the daily shot routine I found myself feeling that I could have done more 8-( He struggled with diabetes for many years even with the prescription dog food from this vet it just seemed that weekend he was ready to give up. I sure do miss him especially when it came to his routine of feeding and giving his shots and looking over at places he used to lay and he would not be there. I have 2 1/2 Chi's now that I love also and they need me to, so I have to carry on with them but I will never forget my Mickey we had him since he was 8 weeks old and so tiny. The reason I say 2 1/2 is that I have 2 (brother and sister) that are 3 years old and we rescued a 1/2 Chi 1/2 Jack Russel that was 2 years when we got her and she is going on 5 years now. I'm sorry, I got into talking about my big boy passing and really was wanting some advice on what is happening to my baby girl Chi tonight. She was lying on the couch with me and she started licking my legs profusely and then she got out from under the sheet that was over us and she was continuously swallowing non stop, then she got down she is now licking everything the carpet the kitchen floor, boxes, table legs. I had heard that sometimes when dogs get sick they eat on grass in order to throw up what is bothering their stomach. So, I went out and got various grasses (no danger of anything on it because we do not use pestasides in our yard, and I run them through water to wash off any dust that might be on them) she ate them like she was starved to death I have never seen her eat that fast. The other 2 dogs smelled of them but just walked away. I have not given her any more even though she seemed to love it because I do not want to overdo things with her. After she ate them she just continued to go back to licking everything. I was just wondering if anyone in the group have ever seen a Chi do this. I have no way to get her to our vet or the ER my vision is not good and I have no car have not driven in about 3 years. I do not live in a big city with pay rides and have no family or friends here yet, so I really hope someone can get back to me about her, I'm getting really afraid that something is very wrong! She is now coughing and still licking. Should I crate her to keep her from licking the floors and everything? That in itself worries me she will get hair off the floor. Thanks To Anyone who can help me understand what is going on with her. Debbie From Tennessee
