I have been taking the girls for late evening walks, because of this never
ending heat spell, (high 90s). So far I haven't been bitten, but I think I
will wait until after they spray to do anymore night walking. I guess WN is
all over the states then. I remember years ago, when several people got it
here, and they were spraying constantly. People put up a stink about it
because they weren't warning us that they were going to spray, Now by law
they have to tell the public three days in advance, so that no one is
outside and your windows are shut. They will be spraying between
7:30-11:30PM
which they claim is the most active time for the bugs. Still, a lot of
people will get caught in it at those hours.

We have cases here too. So, far they have just asked everyone to remove
standing water from their yards and to use spray on themselves when outside,
especially in the evenings.
