Dolly has recurring respiratory infections...she is prone to them most likely because she had her first when she was only 8 wks old...they are brought on by allergies, so in the last year or more when I have her on the Atarax twice a day every day, she hasn't had a respiratory infection. I had asked the vet if Desi was at risk, and even if me being sick makes her sick and he said 'no'. Dolly had Giardia and her and Desi drink from the same bowl all the time - and he didn't have it. Dolly licked up some raw egg before I could wipe it away and that is probably where she got the giardia.
So in my sick household, the dogs don't get sick from me, and I don't get sick from them. Definitely Dolly's seems to be brought on by allergies, and treating her allergies has cut down on her being sick. I don't know if maybe the information came about from some dogs from puppy mills that may have started sick and continued to be sick together??? --- In [email protected], Mommabear7772004 wrote: > > All animals can get things that are transmittable to humans and vice versa > but it is very rare in a normal household > situation.
