LOL I've started calling my Chis velcro dogs. Charlie and Violet are my first two. Charlie is total snuggle bug. He's in my lap before my butt has hit the chair/sofa/seat/floor. He'll sit and stare and yip and cry and look sad until I let him in my lap. It's the one place he wants to be in the whole wide world. If not my lap, someone else's. He LOVES people, wants to be with his people and if not somebody at all times. He does okay when left alone but he's just happiest with people. Violet is more outgoing. She likes to play and prance and be silly but she'll run over full speed at random moments and leap into our arms, flatten out against us, put her front arms around our neck and lick our noses. She's pickier about her people but once she loves you she's velcro too! She'll be 2 next month, Charlie Bug will be 3 in May. These are the first dogs I've ever owned who have been bred for no other function than to be human companions. They don't guard, hunt, fight, herd whatever. They're just bred to be loved by us humans. It kind of worried me at first because I kept asking, maybe they want to do more? Go for a hike, hunt out something, I don't know something but nope, they just want to be with me. We go for walks, they know tricks but that's to please me and teach them manners. Violet will hunt stinkbugs and flies and she can sniff out her favorite toy on command and find a handful of people but at the end of it all, velcro. Especially if it's cold or damp, total velcro dogs. So, yeah, I think it's normal but I'm typing this with them in my lap, at work, waiting to go home. I may be baised! LOL Don't worry!
