Well I have had a few with chronic illnesses and I try to equate it with humans. We, with chronic illnesses, can have productive , happy lives. But as always, it is I think harder to watch someone we love endure the effects than endure it ourselves. We, as Moms and Dads, are programmed to fix things..smile.
