My Dolly was absolutely terrified of the crate when I got her. She would screech and then every time I cleaned out the kennel and then put her back in there she pooped over everything. So the kennel was not used after that. When she was on kibble she always free-fed; then after she got the colitis I had to put her on canned SD ID mixed with canned puppy food...she would almost always eat all of that at once. When she was 11 months old, the vet told me to put her on kibble and sold me the SD ID kibble and she would have nothing to do with it...even mixed with some regular kibble and she would eat all the regular and not the ID. Then I just got RC Chihuahua kibble (before they added all the corn to it) and she would free feed. The vet said that some dogs are like that. It wasn't until after she was on the Atarax that she started eating all the food at once. Unless you are feeding canned, fresh or raw, let her eat at her pace. Some people are meal eaters and some are those that nibble all day long.
