The vets that I called said they don't have the equipment for it. Doesn't
the dog have to be knocked out for it too? I can't imagine a dog not
feeling some pain and can't imagine one lying still long enough to complete
a tattoo.

It used to be common to tattoo the male and female signs in a circle with a
line thru it. Tattooing is easy, I did lots of dogs for the shelter but my
last tattooed bunch we had a human tattoo person do. My SS# is reg with
National Dog Registry so all my dogs were always tattooed. Some dog shows
have tattoo clinics.

Don't you just hate that?!! Poor girl had to under go all of that for
nothing! They need to make it mandatory that all spayed dogs need a tattoo
at the time the
spay is done. I have tried to find a Vet here that could tattoo Princess,
since you can't see her spay incision anymore, and have had no luck. The
next best thing I did
was to have her ID printed with Spayed and the year. Gigi has several scars,
so I am not to worried about her. I would just feel better if Princess had a
tattoo in case she should ever get lost.

Tri color is a dog with mostly one color, usually black, that has tan points
like a Dobe, MinPin or Rott with white usually on feet or collar. He is
white with black spots. Does he have little black dots on his ear edges too?
He reminds me of a 4lb female we pulled from MDAS almost a month ago who was
finally healthy enough for her spay and dental. The vet opened her up and
found she had been spayed. Kloe was apparently never let out of the house so
enjoys sunbathing around her foster Mom's pool while the herd romps.

Thank you all for your input. Pippin had a great time exploring the first
day. The cats were not sure what to make of him, but we're all learning to
get along. He's mostly white, has a big black spot on his back and one of
the tail. Tricolor?

I agree with Gloria, he is unsure and frightened, which is normal for the
first few days. He is also adorable! Wishing you the best! What's the
story with the tri-color
puppy?
